Product information

Flashing Tape.

Sef adhesive lead-look tape.

High quality, self adhesive bitumen coated, heavy duty, lead look finish tape for trade use. Available in a wide range of widths in 10mtr long rolls.

Description

Flashing Strip is a self-adhesive bituminous sealing strip which bonds instantly to provide a permanent watertight seal.

Uses:

Bonds to most building materials including masonry, brick, concrete, wood, slates, metal, concrete roof tiles, glass, plastic and roofing felt.

Flashing Strip is used for the following:-
Repairing lead flashing, sealing valley gutters, repairing leaks in guttering and drain pipes, protecting insulation for pipes and tanks, repairs to greenhouses, repairing roofing felt joints.

Preparation

Surfaces must be clean and free from dust, grease, loose materials and ponding water. Gaps greater than 3mm should be filled using an appropriate filler. For adhesion on porous or uneven surfaces, the use of a primer is advised at a rate of 1.8m² per litre and allowed to dry. Do not leave the primer for more than 24 hours and therefore only coat an area enough for covering within the day. Some surfaces may require a second coat of primer which should be applied once the first coat is dry.
