Concrete Padstone 215x215x215mm

Padstones, are specialised high-density concrete blocks. The purpose of a padstone is to form a sound base or pad for a lintel or steel beam to distribute the load onto the surrounding block or brick structure.  The block or brick structure would not normally cope with the high loads imposed.

Without padstones, this weight would apply a damaging, crushing force to the blocks directly contacted by the lintel/beam. Padstones are made of stronger denser concrete than normal blockwork. They are manufactured with 50kn/m2 concrete creating a block that will take a considerable weight from above and effectively distribute it across the blockwork below preventing cracks and structural damage.
